What do I get?
  1. A monthly Album containing photographs of known offenders.

  3. Access to RCO Radio Network, which is used by Police, PCSO's, Street Wardens and Citywatch CCTV Operator..
     

  4. Invitation to attend the monthly 'Security Meetings' attended by the West Midlands Police, British Transport Police, Security and all other RCO members.
     

  5. Access to crime prevention information via Midland Retail Crime Initiative.

  6. Opportunity for you to issue RCO Exclusion Notices banning offenders from your own premises and every other member “Leisure Premises” as well.
     

  7. Help and advice concerning crime prevention / loss prevention matters, from the Scheme’s Manager M. Barnes who is a retired Police Sergeant of 32 years service, former Group Loss Prevention Manager and Alan Shakespeare a retired Detective Police Sergeant and former Operations Manager with CV One at Coventry.

  8. RCO Exclusion Notice “Window Stickers” which identifies membership of the RCO . These have proved to be an excellent deterrent to and sends out the message, “We have a photograph of you and will know who you are”. This makes them accountable and responsible for their actions.

How do I join?

Ring the RCO Office on 0121-236-7652 and discuss membership. We need you to Sign Up to the scheme’s “Data Protection Rules” and “Scheme Acceptance”. You can either request this documentation is sent to you by post or you can visit the RCO website and:

  1. Print off and sign the page marked "Data Integrity".
     
  2. Print off and sign the page marked “Scheme Acceptance”.
     
  3. Forward both the “Data Integrity” and “Scheme Acceptance” pages to the Co-ordinator (at the address stated).

What happens then?

  1. Subject to suitability, you will be accepted as a member of the RCO and an Invoice will be sent to you.
     

  2. A meeting is set up between a member of the RCO staff and new member in order to discuss how best to use the scheme in your premises.
     

  3. Your company name and address will be included on the next "Leisure Exclusion Notice, which is issued to "Leisure Excluded Persons", informing them that they are excluded from entering your premises.
     

  4. An Album containing photographs of Street Robbers, Business Repeat Offenders, Business Excluded Persons and Car Park Offenders is then issued to you for “In House” use.
     

  5. “Exclusion Notices”, “Incident Report Forms” and “Deterred at Entry/Sighting Reports” are also issued.
     

  6. Issue of Exclusion Notice stickers for display on doors/windows etc.
     

  7. Inclusion of your telephone/fax number on the West Midlands Police Ringmaster database, which will then allow you to receive messages direct from the police.
     

  8. Details of the monthly “Security Meetings” i.e. time date and venue.
     

  9. The whole idea of the scheme is that we share what would normally be confidential data/information/photos in respect of criminal activity for the purpose of CRIME PREVENTION in order that you can protect yourselves, your staff, yours customers and your property.
