The police and retail photographs will be released to members for the purpose of preventing and detecting crime.
The photographs will be of convicted criminals and excluded persons.
(Police TARGETS must have been convicted of an offence relevant to the circulation, within the preceding twelve months).
The TARGET photographs used will be official police photographs taken upon charging for an offence and retained following conviction.
The TARGETS must be known to be active within the city centre and its outskirts.
The RETAIL photographs used will have been obtained by the retailers following arrest (or exclusion) of a person from their store.
The entire photographs must be retained in a safe and secure private area not accessible to the public and only viewed by bona fide members of the organisation to which it has been released. They must not be copied.
Photograph circulation will only be released against signature to a nominated named employee of the officially recognised organisations and must be returned immediately upon request.
The receiving organisation must accept responsibility for the safekeeping and return of the photographs.
The Target photographs will remain the property and the copyright of the West Midlands Police at all times.
The Excluded Person photographs will remain the property of the Birmingham Retail Crime Operation (Birmingham) at all times.
Any breach of these conditions will result in withdrawal of the company from the scheme.
